The Whole Hog is a nationwide annual race series launched by Adventure Challenge Events in 2007. Each leg is a foot based adventure and involves competitors facing numerous challenges & obstacles around the course.
Challenges vary between venues because each event has a unique feel so it is impossible for us to provide a definitive list of what you will have to overcome in order to go The Whole Hog. What we can guarantee is a bit of mud and a lot of fun. Each obstacle or challenge may be opted out of, known as taking "The Piglet Option", but this incurs a time penalty and we have found that competitors are generally up for whatever we may throw at them.
Venues for 2009 include Suffolk, Walesby – Notts. Alton, London and an exclusive event for Marie Curie in Scotland - this list is set to expand year on year. Entries are welcome from both those wanting to raise sponsorship for their chosen charity, and those who just want to enter for a personal challenge. From 2009 onwards these events will be specifically designed for teams made up of three people but team categories will be All Male, All Female and Mixed in both senior and veteran categories (note a veteran team is one where the combined age of the team is 120+); prizes will be awarded in each category.
Overall The Whole Hog offers so much more than just a race; each leg is set in a fantastic location, entails a set of uniquely designed challenges, and makes for a truly memorable experience. We received very positive feedback from the 2007 and 2008 series and based on your comments the 2009 events are set to be much bigger and better. The events are perfect for teambuilding so why not gather some friends & colleagues and have a go.
Please browse the Whole Hog pages and pay close attention to the FAQ's before making your booking. We look forward to seeing you go The Whole Hog!
