Safety and Liability

Adventure Challenge Events has had an excellent safety record on all the events that it has run. Over the years, we are happy to report, we have had no serious incidents or accidents.
This exceptional record is due to a few important factors:
- Our adherence to the Adventure Challenge Events Health and Safety policy.
- Two of the directors hold significant qualifications in climbing and mountaineering. Ian Loombe holds the Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (MIC) and Ian Weeks is Caving Instructor Certificate (CIC) trained.
- All the staff that Adventure Challenge Events employ in instructional situations during our events are qualified to a minimum of Single Pitch Award (SPA) and hold up-to-date First Aid certificates. This is very important as we do not compromise on staff qualifications or experience and therefore maintain the quality and competence throughout.
- All our events are run in accordance with the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), Health and Safety Executives guidelines.
- See www.thebmc.co.uk/safety/train/advice_6.htm for more information on how charity abseils should me managed.
- When we need further information we ask! We employ structural engineers for our zip slide events so that we have the benefit and peace of mind of expert advice and certification.
Adventure Challenge Events has Civil Liability Insurance up to £5 million cover for all of our events. Our cover note is available on request.
