During 2008 Adventure Challenge Events has provided nearly 100 events for many different charities, with in excess of 7000 participants and an estimated £1.5 million raised. We are also exceptionally pleased to add that we have maintained our 100% safety record.

New For 2009 CRANE ZIPS

ACE has now developed the ability to provide its technical zip slide services from cranes. The great advantage of this is that you know longer require a tall structure to launch from. With the use of a crane cage, participants are winched to the wire in small groups before zipping.

Open Events 2009

Adventure Challenge Events has been working hard to get their 2009 events calendar in place. The website has now been updated and the first 16 dates include a range of zip slides, abseils, classic walking events and a return of the Whole Hog.

Open events remain ever popular and in the current economic climate provide a risk and hassle free way to access fundraising challenge events.

Price Freeze for 2009

With everyone feeling the pinch, ACE has decided to not increase their prices for 2009. Our standard open event costs will stay the same, with it only costing £30 per person to join any of our open event abseils and £35 for any of our open event zip slides. Our walking and Whole Hog events will also remain the same, as will our exclusive zip slide and abseils costs.

ACE has benefited from a greater involvement in all of their events and can therefore support their charity customers by not charging more in the current climate. We wish all of our charities successful fundraising during 2009.

Duck Package 2009

During 2008 ACE became the proud owners of 5000 plastic racing ducks. These pedigree racing ducks are 7cm long and are the weighted variety; therefore they remain upright during the race.

ACE ran its first duck race on the River Aire in Leeds on behalf of Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, who were raising money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The event saw just short of 3000 ducks racing along a 400m stretch of river raising £8500.

The ACE package is simple, we'll worry about the race, locate and gain all the necessary permissions to run the event and then manage the event on the day and the required safety support.

The Whole Hog 2008/2009

The 2008 Whole Hog season is now in full swing. The first event in Alton Towers was a great success and proved to be a demanding course for the 130 competitors. Full race reports are available online but some of the highlights were a 20 m long tunnel for the competitors to crawl through and a "pitch black" rope trail through the crypt of Alton Castle - of course there were the usual mud and water obstacles to keep people on their toes too!

The dates for next year's events will be posted on our website, under our 2009 events calendar, soon. You will also be able to find all of the race reports and pictures from both the Suffolk and Sheffield events within the next 4 - 5 weeks. Happy hogging for those of you taking part!

Stuart has strong links with A.C.E. having been one of the founders of the original parent company. The past 15 years have been spent free-lance instructing and managing outdoor pursuit centres. He is a qualified climbing, caving and kayak instructor as well as a mountain leader.

A veteran of dozens of mountain marathon adventure races his competitive experience will prove invaluable in adding some extra twists to our popular Whole Hog race series.

Stuart will be taking a role in both exclusive charity events and A.C.E. open events.
